Four decades of refining a single, repeatable model for reading company health.

1987

Founded

Don Turkington started Plimsoll with a singular mission; to develop a graphical model that empowered ALL decision makers in a business and not just accountants. The model he developed showed corporate failure is predictable and key trends are obvious, if you know where to look.

Early 90's

The Great Expansion

From one report on the Agriculture sector, coverage expanded rapidly as digitisation of financial data came online. The model proved adaptable to any company, in any market. The foundations of repeatable analysis are established.

1995

New Products and Services

The Plimsoll Model was adapted into new products and service such as Top 100 Reports and Business Buyers Guides.

2000

The Dotcom Boom

Plimsoll growing catalogue of reports were taken online with a searchable website and ordering function.

2001

Viva La France!

Plimsoll expanded into France and applied its model in it's first overseas major economy.

2002

The Plimsoll Valuation Service

A new service designed for instant valuations on any business, based around the Plimsoll Model was launched.

2004

Plimsoll Goes Green

Plimsoll's move from paper to PDF and instant delivery of business intelligence was underway.

2010

Global Conquest

Plimsoll World was launched to provide reports in Global market and territories around the world. Quick to follow were specific business units in France, Spain, Japan and the Nordic regions.

2012

The Launch of TALAT

The migration from paper to PDF to SaaS was completed with the launch of TALAT, bringing the power of Plimsoll to an interactive platform.

2017

The Acquisition Finder Service

We launched our fully bespoke, customer criteria M&A target matching service was launch with one goal. To eliminate the search stage of acquisition prospecting.

2020

Plimsoll Board Reports

The launch of a new service designed to give concise KPI analysis for board meetings, AGM's and other C-Suite sessions.
